November 2020 ~ Get to know Pete Zizzi

“The insight to see possible new paths, the courage to try them, the judgement to measure results – these are the qualities of a good leader.”  – Mary Parker Follett

It’s no accident that over the course of 16 years, team leader & Associate Broker, Pete Zizzi has built a successful multi-million dollar producing real estate team & exemplified the above qualities in the process.  Unlike many team leaders in the local industry, he allows each member of the Zizzi Team the freedom to brand & build their independent business, while offering guidance & support through every transaction.  When the team was asked to describe what they appreciate most about Pete’s leadership style, here is what they had to say:  “Pete is caring, honest, flexible & diligent.   He is a helpful, humble & passionate leader who is open to new ideas, genuinely wants each one of us to grow personally, and is willing to listen & to be challenged.  He is a visionary.”  In addition to his success as a team leader, Pete strives to exceed the expectations of his clients, earning him the prestigious RE/MAX Hall of Fame award, which honors an agent who has earned over 1 million in commission during their time with RE/MAX.  The Zizzi Team holds Platinum Award status, putting them in the top 3% of area Realtors.  Pete recently took the time to answer a few questions & share a little bit about himself & the town he calls home ~ Victor.

Why did you choose real estate & how long have you been in the industry?

  • “Growing up, I worked on homes with my dad & grandpa and I really loved imagining the possibilities for each project.  I earned my RE license in February of 2004 and have been a full-time agent ever since.  In 2007, I went on to earn my Associate Broker’s license.  Years ago, when I bought my first home, I saw a ‘hole’ in the business because I had worked with an agent who didn’t teach me anything.  I felt as though with each step there was another obstacle or another unknown expense that had to be paid.  Because of this frustration, I wanted to focus my attention on educating buyers and sellers in a way that made the process smoother and less stressful for them.  It’s important to me that each of my clients feel supported & informed.”

What are the biggest challenges & the biggest rewards being a team leader?

  • “The biggest challenge is trying to be conscious of having a tangible value proposition for my team members.  Helping and watching each one of them grow and prosper, not only in business but personally, is my favorite part.”

How do you spend your time when you’re not working?

  • “Spending time with my wife, 2 sons, and 2 husky’s…..mountain biking, snowboarding, coaching my son’s hockey team.”

What is something that others would be surprised to learn about you?

  • “I moved 13 times prior to 7th grade, all around Buffalo…..I got really good at meeting new people and adjusting to an ever changing situation.”

Why did you choose to live in Victor?  Tell us about your neighborhood & what you enjoy about it.

  • “I love the feel of the town and the geography.  It’s as though we live somewhere like Vermont, but are only 20 minutes from the City of Rochester.  I also really like the view of the city that we have from our front yard and the fact that we have the best mountain bike park in the area…and it’s only about 5 miles away from my house.”

What are your favorite businesses in Victor?

  • “Six 50 Restaurant, New York Beer Project, & Dryer Road mountain bike park (not really a business but one of my favorite places in town!).”
