The Best Place To Find Your Home

September 2020 ~ Get to know Julie Goin

Much like a graceful tree bending to the wind of a powerful storm, it’s rare to find those who can remain flexible in the face of adversity and steady when others become uprooted.  As a team, we are lucky enough to see this kind of strength on a daily basis in our teammate & friend, Associate Broker, Julie Goin.   Calm when all else is chaos & unwavering in the whirlwind of the real estate market, Julie’s continued success can be attributed, in part, to this strength of character.  Described by her colleagues as hardworking, gracious, confident, assertive, thoughtful & strong, this supermom earned the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award from the Young Realtors Network in her second year in business, and achieved the 100% Club Award with RE/MAX New York, among many other accomplishments.  Julie recently took some time out of her busy schedule to share a little bit more about herself & the town that she calls home ~ Penfield.

Why did you choose real estate & how long have you been in the industry?

“I got my license in 2012, and I have been in the industry for 8 years. I wanted to find something that I could make into a successful career, long term, and that provided the flexibility I with a young, growing family at home.”

What do you enjoy most about being an agent?

  • “Of course, I love my clients, many of whom have become good friends. It is wonderful helping them find a home that fits their needs, and helping guide them through the process of buying and selling. I also appreciate the continued referrals they send me, allowing me more time to focus on them. I do also enjoy the fact that every day is a little different. I’ve never had a “desk job”, and I don’t like the monotony of doing the same tasks every day. Real Estate definitely keeps me “on my toes”, literally and figuratively!”

How do you spend your time when you are not working?

  • “When I’m not working, my family & I love being outdoors enjoying nature. We try to hike around the area weekly, & enjoy camping & visiting our many beautiful lakes whenever possible.”

Share a fun fact that others would be surprised to learn about you.

  • “I have been a dancer since I was 5 years old, and have my MA in Dance Education from SUNY Brockport.  I helped to start up a small modern dance company on Martha’s Vineyard that I performed with for many years prior to my real estate career.”

How long have you lived in Penfield?  Tell us about your neighborhood, why you chose it & what you enjoy about it.

  • “We’ve lived in our current neighborhood in the Pen-Web area for 7 years now. Funny enough, my husband found this home.  He took me to the open house, and encouraged us to write an offer! I joke with him that we could use his expertise on our team anytime!  We absolutely love the area.  It is very convenient to everything we need, we love the schools, and have fantastic neighbors.”

What is your favorite business in Penfield?

  • “That’s a tough one. Since we’re on the Pen-Web border, I’ll give you one from Penfield and one from Webster. I love both the Enchanted Rose Garden boutique in Penfield and K2 Brothers Brewing in Webster. K2 is Conveniently located near a fabulous hike at Lucian Moren Trail, my family and I enjoy a rigorous hike, followed by great food and beer on their beautiful outdoor patio. Basically my favorite things: hiking, beer and relaxing!”
