August 2020 ~ Get to know John Bruno

Loyal, kind, conscientious, sincere, & hilarious…these are a few of the qualities that first come to mind when asked to describe colleague, John Bruno. Officially joining the Zizzi Team in September of 2019, John has achieved an unprecedented level of success within the past 12 months, earning him the nickname ‘the industry anomaly.’ Is it his personable, playful & hardworking approach, his detective-like attention to detail or his unwavering commitment to his clients that has resulted in this success? We’re still trying to figure it out! Whatever the secret formula, this rare combination of talents has been an asset to the 38 families who have bought & sold homes with him over the past year. John graciously found some time to sit down for a brief ‘Q & A’ to share a little bit about himself & the town he calls home ~ Irondequoit.

“Prior to joining the crazy world of real estate, I was a manager in the IT/Tele-Communications industry. I spent my first 9 years at PAETEC/Windstream as a manager of their Network Operations department. I left Telecom to join a startup IT company, named Datto, with roughly 30 employees in Rochester. I was there for approximately 5 years before making the jump into real estate full-time, and when I left, we had built the Rochester office to 200+ employees.”

“Hands-down, with my amazing family! My wife Melissa & I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children ~ our son Michael is 2 years old & we just welcomed Claire into the world in June. Along with our awesome pup Annie, we love taking walks around our neighborhood & throughout all of the local parks in the Rochester area.
Something else that is extremely important to me is coaching soccer. I have coached high school varsity soccer for over 10 years, & I was a volunteer assistant coach at my Alma-mater, Greece Arcadia, for 7 years (2009-2016). Currently, I am the Varsity Girls assistant at Pittsford Sutherland. This will be my 4th year with their program and I am loving being a part of that awesome community!”

“From the street lights to the unique craftsmanship of each house, our neighborhood is full of character. It is the perfect dog-walking neighborhood with an awesome ice cream shop, Netsin’s, that is less than a quarter mile away. I think that the location of the neighborhood might be the best perk. We are a 5-10 minute drive to all the popular restaurants that Rochester has to offer & only 15-20 minutes from Victor, Greece & Henrietta.”
